About Us
BEAT BAD RECORDS was founded on
Long Island, NY in 1979 by Barry Knoedl, Bill Kern, and Ralph Mori.
Beat Bad Records was initially an outlet for the music of Barry Knoedl and Bill Kern,
who performed as Bill & Barry, BK Bop, and The Badbeats. Bill
& Barry produced many Long Island bands in their own recording studio -
Kno Studio. Among the artists produced by Bill & Barry were Jimi
Lalumia & The Psychotic Frogs, The Noogs, Neck Tie Party, New Youth Front,
The Hand Grenades (later known as The Sponsers), Warped Youth, Kira, Tiger Lily,
and Dwight Hobbes. Several of these artists appeared on Beat Bad Records
releases.
